Found footage: Gyuto Monastery, near Sidhbari, India

Another found clip: Ogyen Trinley Dorje, the 17th Karmapa, of the Karma Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism. In this clip, the Karmapa appears on the roof of the Gyuto Monastery, shortly before receiving an audience of devotees and well wishers. He had, just a week before, fled from Tibet to the Dalai Lama's community in exile in Dharmasala. March, 2000.

On my recent trip to Ohio, I discovered this original Super-8 film reel, from my first excursion to India, in an old, dusty box in my parents basement.
